New Builds + Renovations

Saint Peter High School St. Peter, MN

From referendum planning to designing a new high school, ISG served as a full-service resource for this multi-year community effort that included the first new District building in over 40 years. Expected student enrollment has increased significantly in Saint Peter, Minnesota, forcing the community to rethink its school facilities. With upgrades needed in the elementary schools and shrinking available space in its middle and high schools, the District required a new facility. The ISG team helped Saint Peter Public Schools with a successful $58.6 million bond referendum vote. By designing a new high school for the District, the middle school could occupy the former high school. The new building has a student capacity of 850, with the ability to increase to 1,000 when core spaces including the food court and open commons area, are considered. In addition to offering modern classrooms, the new school provides spaces for performing arts, athletics, an academy and workforce center, and community-used spaces. The commons features a large wall of windows looking out over the courtyard and a green space setting beyond, with an outdoor District and community gathering space featuring a terrace for dining, decorative paving and seating options, an outdoor classroom, and many other unique outdoor amenities. To reconfigure the former high school into a new middle school, ISG provided designs to renovate spaces, including updated science labs, a band and concert suite, and a lap and diving pool that was deepened to meet current safety guidelines.
