Faribault School District Athletic Field + Complex Faribault, MN ISG guided the Faribault Booster Club in designing a state-of- the-art fitness center. Located inside Faribault High School, the 4,700 square foot facility is a premier fitness training center that serves as a national model through a partnership with Cybex International—a premium fitness equipment provider. Multiple windows line one wall, allowing natural daylight to permeate the space. The rubber flooring tiles improve the room’s acoustics and also reduce the impact of dropped weights. From start to finish, school spirit motivated the commitment of volunteers and donors, and the facility’s interior designs. The Cybex equipment throughout the facility is branded to the school colors, a green strip runs along the top of the wall, and the exposed ductwork has the FHS motto, “Show Your Wings”, painted across. The entire project was completed through donations totaling $750,000 and serves 1,200 high school student population. Named in honor of longtime Faribault High School Coach Bob Fielitz, the new facility will serve as a meaningful place to train and support Faribault athletics for years to come.
Albert Lea Hammer Complex Albert Lea, MN
ISG has been a consistent, valued partner for the Albert Lea School District for many years and guided the District through a successful $24.6 million referendum. ISG worked with the District on a design to renovate and expand the athletic complex to meet the needs of all the District’s athletic programs. The Hammer Complex was a deteriorating facility originally constructed in the 1960s. The District outgrew the facility and needed an updated set of facilities that could meet the needs of all sports teams and spectators, as well as improved site circulation, enhanced entrance safety, and compliance to ADA accessibility standards. ISG’s role included planning, design, and project management services for the District’s upgrades to the Complex. The designs created by ISG brought the District’s vision to life, while meeting the necessary requirements to allow for a more engaging, safer, and sustainable facility that will meet the needs of the school and community for decades to come.
