CROSS-INFRASTRUCTURE POSSIBILITIES

DIRECT DISCHARGE LIMITATIONS Limit the amount of wastewater being direct discharged by using treated wastewater for other beneficial uses. Examples of this include irrigation, gray water within buildings for non-potable uses, cooling tower water, and other industrial usage. RENEWABLE NATURAL GAS (RNG) Capture methane gas from agricultural, industrial, and municipal waste digestion to produce renewable natural gas. Renewable natural gas can be used onsite for energy or electricity production. RNG can also be further refined to natural gas quality for pipeline export.

REPURPOSE SLUDGE Sludge generated throughout the treatment of wastewater can be utilized to support agriculture. The nutrients found in the sludge are beneficial for use as fertilizer, and can help improve soil fertility and crop production.
